Mobilizing Justice partner CIP, The Canadian Institute of Planners, hosted a Transportation Planning webinar on equity on December 10th. Dr. Matt Palm, MJ’s Research Coordinator, presented on Mobilizing Justice’s planned research activities. Dr. Palm highlighted the importance of the National Survey in drawing policymakers’ attention to barriers and inequities in transportation systems, while illustrating how the partnership’s planned research towards Data Driven Standards can help practitioners incorporate social and wellbeing measures into business cases. He also highlighted MJ’s commitment to conducting Innovative Pilots that will advance how equity in evaluated in new projects.
The workshop was moderated by Lisa Salsberg at Access Planning. Other speakers included Caitlin Cooper, a Project Manager with MJ partner TransLink, Andrew Devlin, Manager of Transport Planning at the City of North Vancouver, and Amy Peebles, Manager with MJ Partner Metrolinx.
