Community of Practice

Background

In partnership with The Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT), Mobilizing Justice is leading a series of workshops , convening a Mobilizing Justice Community of Practice of community organizations working to support transport equity and increase modal choice.

The goals of the workshops are to:

1.      Improve our understanding of experiences of Canadians facing transport poverty and the current on-the-ground priorities, gaps, and community initiatives developed in response.

2.      Build two-way communication between community organizations and Mobilizing Justice researchers and partners.

3.      Provide value to participating community organizations and leaders.

What have we done so far?

Since 2022, the Community of Practice has convened virtually 14 times. Invitations to participate have been sent to over 300 community initiatives identified in the Catalogue of Canadian Initiatives Addressing Transport Poverty. Over 1,000 researchers, community organizations, and civil servants have attended across the 14 workshops.
